MyWriMo Day 23

After the miserable failure to write that was week 2 I’ve managed to get a bit more writing done. I’ve also researched the smell of emotions, psychiatric hospitals in the early twentieth century, and what bats like to eat.

My novel word count currently stands at 14,685, but I’ve also written a story for my youngest grandchildren in Italy, and that’s 1,934 words. So definitely a more productive period.

I started the children’s story – and in fact got most of it jotted down in my notebook – while standing in line waiting for my Covid booster. Yes, it was a long queue.

I was supposed to be on jury service this week but was sent home on Monday. I have been instructed to turn up at the courts again tomorrow when I am definitely on a panel from whom a jury will be chosen. As I’m already planning on including a trial scene in my new novel I sincerely hope I am picked – as long as it’s not too bloody – I am inclined to faint – or anything to do with the abuse of children.
