Who said it was easy?

I’ve spent a frustrating afternoon trying to streamline my social media presence – and doesn’t that sound grand? (I read it somewhere obviously.)

Having found the first part – making sure my branding is consistent (wording again filched) – fairly simple I began the job of making this website just what I want it to be. I’m sure at some point I had mastered the domain, hosting and CMS wording, and knew what was what but during the afternoon it all blended into one big heap.

I spent a lot of time beginning things and then finding out that to progress I’d have to pay lots of money, but I seem to have accomplished at least one of the tasks I had set myself. Well, sort of. I wanted a combined contact me/sign up for my newsletter form, but that was beyond my capabilities as they stand at the moment. It’ll come, I tell myself.

But, and you’ll be impressed by this, I did generate an API key. No, I have no idea what it does or whether what I’ve done works but it felt pretty good, especially when I read somewhere – and I would copy and paste directly if I could remember where I saw it – that only experienced coders should attempt this manoeuvre.

Why have the words, ‘pride comes before a fall,’ suddenly popped up in my brain?
