Catch-up time

Writing fiction seems to have been put on hold temporarily. I have several ideas I’d like to pursue but time escapes me. Still that’s not to say I haven’t been writing.

I continue to produce a monthly article for local magazine, The Bay, and because I didn’t think I had enough to do with life in general I volunteered to write and record a weekly show for a new Christian radio station, BMRC.

I should add that the producers were pretty desperate! ‘Whatever you’d like to do,’ they said. ‘A five minute slot that can be played several times a week or a longer show of your own.’ Of course the temptation of a show of MY OWN was too much and I had to say yes to that.

So now I’m committed to producing about 1,800 words every week. And recording them. They’re interspersed with music, by the way, to make it last about 25 minutes.

I have no idea how many people listen to the station, let alone to my show. Probably about five including me and the producer. Oh wait, I don’t listen …

The tag line is ‘a show about family, topical news, and Jesus.’ I try to keep it light-hearted and real, while also trying to get across how lovely Jesus is.

I’m also turning my talky bits into a podcast (minus the music): Everyday Life

If it sounds like something you’d be interesting in listening to you’ll find it here.
