Bubbles up your nose

As well as being Daughter’s birthday, today apparently is not only toothache day but National Read in the Bath Day.
Now while that sounds perfectly delightful I have to admit I don’t really like reading in the bath. There are so many places that are more comfortable. Quite apart from the water getting cold, and trying to keep the book dry and yourself warm, leaning on the back of the bath just isn’t comfy.
I’d like … a nice big armchair – one that’s big enough to curl up in, a roaring fire, a cup of tea and a piece of cake. And someone to wait on me to refill my teacup and keep the fire burning. Yes, that would suit me, thank you. Especially on a day like today when, as the weatherman said, the temperature is 2 degrees but wind chill makes it feel like minus 5. Just the noise of it outside the window is enough to make you shiver.
However if you like to read in the bath then today’s the day that gives you the perfect excuse. And, I might add, my books would love to be read anywhere: they’re not as fussy as I am. All are available from Amazon or if you haven’t signed up for my newsletter yet (why not?) you can do so and get a free download of This Time Next Year.
